The reading habit can provide several developmental benefits. One of them is to be able to broaden knowledge about various types of content. Reading also brings focus and concentration, decreases stress, improves memory, expands imagination, and enriches vocabulary.
As we can see from the benefits, reading is a fundamental activity that should be part of everyone’s routine. And did you know that reading can even increase life expectancy? According to a Yale University study, people who spend more than three hours a week reading tend to live at least two years longer than non-readers. The study lasted 12 years and looked at more than 3,000 people, and during that time 17% of those who kept the habit of reading at least 3.5 hours a week were less likely to die.
To create the habit of reading it is necessary to search for themes that catch your attention.
Reading is also critical for many other reasons, such as decreasing the chances of dementia and strengthening creativity. During reading, different parts of the brain are stimulated.
